Best known as the gateway to Big Bend National Park (and a filming location for Paris, Texas), Marathon is a quietly beautiful town on an arrow-straight section of Highway 90. The skulls on the wall of the Gage Hotel are true West Texas, and speak the same language as a Cormac McCarthy novel.
