This is an 18-point chart showing Vancouver buildings of architectural, cultural, or social importance, all of which were bulldozed or burned out of existence between 1912 and 2017. The old Vancouver Art Gallery really stands out here. It was an absolutely gorgeous art deco beauty designed by local architects Sharp and Thompson, demolished in 1985, and replaced by what’s now the Vancouver Trump Tower. At least there is a very good photo of it online, if you dig deep enough. Ugh. Anyway, the Ridge Theatre window mural was a joy to draw, too. Printed in an open edition, signed and dated on reverse.
