This is a 18-point chart showing Toronto buildings of architectural, cultural, or social importance, all of which were bulldozed or burned out of existence between 1904 and 2017. Which are my favourites? The Regal Constellation Hotel (basically a space-age and modernist 15-storey hotel near Pearson), the Temple Building (one of Toronto’s first skyscrapers, demolished to make way for Queens-Bay Centre) and that darling Sam the Record Man (I worked at the West Edmonton Mall shop, so it’s close to my heart). Printed in an open edition, signed and dated on reverse.
