THE ROYAL BISON HISTORICAL ARCHIVE
Founded in 2007 by illustrator Raymond Biesinger, the Royal Bison Art and Craft fair began in a time when Etsy and the term “hand made revolution” was brand spankin’ new. When Raymond moved to Montreal in 2010, the Royal Bison torch was passed to illustratorJosh Holinaty, jeweller Jeanie Andronyk and designer Vikki Wiercinski. Over time, vendor-organizers have left for greener pastures and other long-time vendors (shout out to Andrew Benson, Jim Johansson, Emily Chu, Ryan Spotowski, Matthew Stepanic) have taken their place.
We've had over 400 different makers, designers, illustrators and artists pass through our doors, and it goes without saying: the Royal Bison wouldn't be the Royal Bison without its super talented community of Edmonton-based makers and vendors!
Royal Bison HQ has made some cool stuff over the years and we couldn't have done it without so much amazing local support. Here we present for your enjoyment a visual history of the Royal Bison and some fun facts. So many tote bags! So many posters! So much craziness! Letters from Premier of Alberta! Thanks for being so awesome, Edmonton. We love you.
